vander's human physiology from the vargas staff series "Wolves of Tindalos"
vander himself was quite an interesting character. It was great seeing and hearing him again. I missed some of the parts in the books. vander is much like the meerkats in "The Rise of Hegemony" and "The Necessity of War"
, he is adorable, funny, kindhearted, brave, and loyal. he also harbors some paranoia. and very admirable. how could I not like him! I was somewhat worried about how vander and mouse would interact. As you know, vander's affinity is for mice, while mouse's affinity is for vander. I was worried that vander would not trust mouse, but he quickly proved me wrong. Their interactions in "The Void War" were fantastic and full of chemistry. At the end of the book, mouse, vander, and Shintaro meet and live a life together.
I absolutely loved the scene when mouse is explaining vander to an audience at Shintaro's school. It was so cute. Just loved it! A picture is worth a thousand words. Here's a picture of me and Eric reading "The Fledgling". Eric is still alive. Very well, actually. He has a normal - ish life now, doesn't he? Well, as normal as you can be while going to grad school and working in the middle of nowhere in Iowa. I like it that he has a job and does things, because I don't. He just finished the fourth novel in the Stormlight Archive series, and I'm so proud of him. It's such an epic series, and I love how he has just loved it all. So awesome. I just completed my sixth draft on my YA horror novel and I will be beginning revisions shortly.
Yes, I know, it's late for a revision. But I'm way behind in my YA contemporary novel revision. Also, while I'm doing revisions on the former, I will be doing some searching online for new editors for my first draft, as well as some more research for my story. My story will be the basis for my YA paranormal series about a werewolf girl (still working on that). I think I will finish the first draft and then write a few scenes in each book. I'll also be working on the book's synopsis. It's an intense description. I'm also planning on sending my submission out to a few publishing houses, but I think it will be just a one - off and I will not submit it for rewrites like I have my contemporary novels. As my deadline for my contemporary novel revision gets closer, I'm finding more and more ways to procrastinate on writing. Not that my revision is really difficult.
It's actually a very fun story to write and I'm making some really cool discoveries and great connections with my characters and plot. I'm making some great changes and additions to it, and it's awesome. It's just really hard. Actually, the hardest part is just the edits that I have to do for the story. A lot of the feedback I've gotten is saying that I need to be more descriptive in certain scenes. Yes, yes I know. It's hard. I'm trying to, but some of my story is so realistic that it can be boring or too much for some people. And this novel will be at least twenty pages longer than my contemporary novels (if it doesn't exceed that, it will be below that). So I guess it's hard. But I've found that procrastination is a very useful tool when it comes to writing.
The more I put off doing it, the harder it becomes. But then I just get frustrated and I write so much (not literally, I'm quite the voracious reader) that I can't wait to get it done. Then I still have tons of editing left to do and I still have to rework the plot, but I know how to do it. So now I'm writing, I'm making progress. I'm getting closer and closer to my dream of publishing my book. I would like to get published in the next year, but I am also realistic. I have a lot to do in order to get published. But if I get the rights to my YA supernatural novel, I know that I will be fine. So I guess procrastinating works. It may not be the best for me, but it certainly is useful. And procrastination is very common, as it is for most of the population. I just wish I had more time.
I have a pile of books on my floor that I need to read. This would not be a problem if I didn't have a full time job, a full time graduate program, a full time internship, and a full time book writing process. But I am getting there. I'm getting there. Just in time for me to reread Wicked. Yes, it's been a few years since I've read it, but it is one of my favorites and I can't wait to get back into it. I love the character development of the characters, the music, the drama, and the love story. I can't wait for the movie.
My friend just lent me the book to read and I'm excited to get back into it. (plus, the movie looks really amazing) So this post is for all of my amazing readers that are waiting for me to finish my revisions so we can talk more about my current work in progress. Yeah, I'm late with the announcement. I was out of town for most of the week, but I'm back. So here it goes. I have something wonderful to share with you all. You guys remember my vampire novel that I started a couple of years ago? My vampire novel that I had for over a year. Yes, that novel.
